Project Description
Overview:
As a consultant at Adaptive Insights, I led a collaborative effort to revamp the visual identity of the company's flagship product, the Adaptive Planning Service. This project played a crucial role in positioning Adaptive Insights as a leader in cloud-based planning software and ultimately contributed to its acquisition by Workday. Over the course of six months, I worked closely with a team of junior designers and developers, serving as the primary liaison with stakeholders and overseeing the project's progress.

Adaptive Insights recognized the need to differentiate its cloud-based planning software through a visually compelling and cohesive brand identity. The existing interface of the Adaptive Planning Service lacked polish and coherence, hindering the company's ability to effectively communicate its commitment to innovation and user-centric design.
Research and Analysis:
- Conducted in-depth market research to identify emerging design trends and best practices in user interface design.
- Engaged in stakeholder interviews to understand the desired aesthetic and functional requirements of the redesign.
- Regularly communicated with stakeholders at Adaptive Insights and provided progress updates to the consulting company, Idean, for which I was working.
Solution Approach:
- Led the design team in conceptualizing and iterating on various design proposals for the Adaptive Planning Service, incorporating feedback from stakeholders and users.
- Extended the branding efforts beyond digital interfaces to include company swag, such as t-shirts and coffee mugs, to foster a sense of unity and pride among employees and partners.
Outcome and Impact:
- Produced a comprehensive visual design spec document that served as a blueprint for implementing the redesigned interface across the Adaptive Planning Service.
- The refreshed interface enhanced the user experience and positioned Adaptive Insights as a forward-thinking and customer-centric organization.
- The distribution of branded company swag contributed to a positive company culture and strengthened relationships with employees and partners.
Key Takeaways from the Project:
